This past Thursday I had the distinct honor of teaching the newest research and protocols on decompression for chiropractors and their staffs in Schaumburg,  Illinois. This fine group of health care providers asked some of the finest questions of any of the students I have ever addressed and we had some of the best conversations I have encountered at any seminar I have taught. In the past three years I have taught decompression protocols to PTs, MDs, DOs, and DCs. I am always impressed with the DCs level of knowledge of the disc dynamics and how to handle the disc problems. Their questions and discussions are spot on and their compassion for their patients is remarkable.

Axial Decompression fits the chiropractic philosophy of “The body has the ability to heal itself if the interference is removed.” By using the proper protocols, understanding disc dynamics, using nutritional supplements that aid in the effectiveness of decompression’s effectivness on disc tissue repair, and using directional core rehab principles we can help to restore disc health and slow down disc degeneration. The research backs this and clinically we are seeing this in our practice on a daily basis.

In today’s economy we must get the best results for our patients so they achieve their maximum healthy potential and in turn refer more patients to our offices. In order to be successful we as physicians must work to be “Better Doctors”. I encourage all Doctors to become more educated on how decompression works so they become “Black Belts” in decompression. When doctors fail with decompression it is often because they do not understand how to individualize treatment programs to fit each patients needs. Often doctors use a one size fits all protocol. In my seminars I try to show doctors how to handle the problem patients and alter your protocols to enhance your probability of achieving successful outcomes.You have to understand why something is not working just as much as how it works when things go well.  It is very simple: A good carpenter knows how to use his tools but a master carpenter knows how to maximize his tools to get great outcomes. You must become an expert (a Master) with your decompression tools. The only way to do that is to read research articles, go to seminars, and join mastermind groups.
